beating the Scum at Old Trafford as a lowly Third Division side, which can be celebrated properly now we know it hasn't cost us promotion. ----------------- Terry, I celebrated long and loud after that win - had we not gone up it would not have been down to that one match. Let's face it, we had 56 points from the first 23 games of the season when we played them yet only got 30 points from the final 23 games. Many more factors than the Old Trafford win account for such a drop in points gained. ----------- Date: Sun, 9 May 2010 16:36:08 +0000 (GMT) From: DAVID NATTAN <[email protected]> time stood still as Beckford pounced -------- Dave, I had to watch our rollercoaster ride on a jerky live stream on a PC - time literally did stand still for three or four seconds when Beckford scored. Having been accused by many Leeds and non-Leeds fans of lacking the bottle required, to get the 2 goals we needed in the last half hour when a man down was unbelievably satisfying. Credit to Grayson for bringing Howson on as soon as we went one down and for making Beckford captain for the day - he stood up to be counted and if that was his last game for Leeds he goes out in a glorious manner. BTW, I was making Faustian pacts involving MU winning the League after Rovers scored, but fortunately the football gods weren't listening. ---------------------------- Date: Mon, 10 May 2010 09:39:11 +0000 (GMT) From: Ed Morrish <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [LU] This bloody promotion is all well and good, but............. And we didn't even make the playoffs; that's a guaranteed sell-out home game and a Wembley match we're missing the gate receipts from! Ken must be FURIOUS. -------- Not only that, but we miss out on playing in the FA Cup before Xmas and all that TV money as we scrape a draw at the likes of Kettering - I'm livid too ...
