Haven't seen the film...............got half way through the book then threw it
across the room and never picked it up (except to throw it away.) David Peace
is a charlatan of the highest order. That book is so shoddily written, and as
for that much-vaunted Red Riding, well that was just pure sensationalist drivel
designed to titillate Home Counties Tory voters with a tale of those
uncivilised and uncouth Northerners. And if you don't believe me, take a look
at the dvd...............about 20 mins in to the 1st episode there is a scene
of a bleak grey windswept mining town landscape as one of the characters
emerges from a house...........whilst a man in a flat cap walks by with a
greyhound!!!
