When I came over for the Brentford game my mate and I stopped in a one room pub
in the city centre somewhere (don't know the name) that was the worst pub I
have ever been in my life. Full of old alcoholics and one very dodgy skinhead.
Sorry don't know what street (New Market Street?), but was across from a camera
shop and a bus stop that had busses going to Elland Road.

Not that London doesn't have its share of dodgy boozers mind....

As I drove through Holbeck today they were in the process of knocking down the
high rises. You will not recognise Holbeck soon. Not a bad thing I suppose but
I love old Leeds, like the dark, wet tunnels and arches, slightly scary and
depressing places for those outsiders that dare venture into Leeds. They're
even trying to make them into looking like the inside of a nightclub.

Yeah, North Yorkshire is has a magical, roughly-hewn beauty that makes my chest
swell with pride. Need to walk it one day.

London still makes my wallet wince - you can't scratch your knackers without
blowing a tenner, but as a hothouse for the brightest, the beautiful and the
best it has few equals.
