European Football Fans' Congress 2010
"Money can't buy passion!"
16-18 July 2010 in Barcelona, Spain
Deadline for registrations is Friday 18 June 2010! REGISTER NOW!
PLEASE PASS THIS INVITATION ON TO EVERYBODY THAT MIGHT BE INTERESTED IN
ATTENDING THE EVENT!
Last year, at the European football fans' congress we celebrated in
Hamburg/Germany, more than 350 supporters coming from 29 countries
kick-started Football Supporters Europe (FSE) as our new, independent and
democratic football fans' network in Europe. With workshops packed with fans
willing to push positive developments in their different countries, and the
election of the first FSE Committee, the congress was a success and showed
us the way (some improvements included) we want FSE to work in the future.
The FSE Committee and various FSE members have since travelled, debated,
emailed, twittered and facebooked up and down the continent and sometimes
even beyond to spread the word on the issues discussed and results achieved
so far. We set up working groups and an FSE messageboard. We established
contacts with many more grassroots football fans who joined FSE, with the
right "counterparts" inside the football governing bodies and institutions
in football to make the fans' voice heard.
And now it's your turn to shape it further again!
This year, at the 3rd European Football Fans' Congress (EFFC) 2010 in
Barcelona/Spain, we want to work on or even finalise concrete activities and
proposals that have come up e.g. in the working groups throughout the year,
to make sure that we can involve as many people of you as possible in direct
action and implementation so that FSE's actions can be o! f help to all of
us, if possible in any way. And obviously we shouldn't forget to combine all
of these work bits with passion and fiesta!
Against this background, the European Fans' Congress 2010 will feature
workshop sessions on issues such as
* Behind Closed Doors Only!? Current Sanctions affecting Fans vs
Self-Policing
* The F$&%ed Up Economics of Football
* Action Heroes Against Modern Football?! Ultras
* .not here for YOUR Entertainment! Female Football Fans
* Bridging a gap - Fan Liaison Officers as a model in Europe
Also, FSE's annual meeting will take place again, where we'll be able to
discuss the things we like and dislike about our network and amend the
statutes. And, of course, as an FSE member you can vote and be voted to be a
member of the FSE-Committee. We will also enjoy a framework of social
activities which will obviously include some of the well-known Spanish
treats, such as paella, sangria.and football, of course.
This year's congress will be possible thanks to the help of various Spanish
football fans that volunteered and want FSE to keep growing and becoming an
increasingly active and powerful grassroots fans' voice in Europe. Also, we're
happy that UEFA and Espanyol Barcelona are supporting the organisation of
this year's event, whilst still acknowledging our independent nature.
So reserve the dates, 16-18 July because there won't be anything better to
do those days than enjoying the stadium of Espanyol and the sun in Barcelona
while becoming part of a great weekend and history in the making. Make sure
you contribute your ideas to shape our game as you want it to be. It's up to
you, it's up to us!
Further info and registration forms on the EFFC visit our website at
www.footballsupporterseurope.org.
As FSE is also s! tanding up for equal access, we're of course looking
forward to welcoming hopefully many disabled fans at our event, too! Apart
from that, we can provide some financial support for delegates of all fans'
groups without sufficient financial means with travel costs and
accommodation for their trip to Barcelona. Please contact us and let us know
if you require any such assistance.
Looking forward to receiving your registration and seeing you in Spain!
Deadline for registrations is Friday 18 June 2010!
