WorldNET 10 the 15th IFA tournament takes place in Leeds on the weekend
of 23/24/25 July at The University of Leeds' Bodington Hall. The list's
illustrious team - The Leeds Lards are entered into the Veteran's
Competition and are in a group with Southampton, Airdrie, and RC Lens on
day one. If you fancy being part of the team - player, supporter,
physiotherapist, barman etc.. get in touch with either myself of Dave
Woolmer (who's in RSA at the moment watching some sporting event or other).
To keep up to date with things Lardy you can join the Lards Yahoo group
at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/lards and of course there are full
details of the tournament at www.worldnet.org.uk
New members are always welcome especially if you meet the Vets criteria
of being over 30 (we are allowed young 'uns in the squad too). The
Lards have been at every WorldNET event since it started and we now need
to replace some of those ageing legs. We are also looking to get a team
together to play in the IFA league during the season. What happens is
the supporters team (ie the Lards) play visiting IFA teams on the day of
the big team's match. Check out the IFA website at
www.internetfootball.org.uk for more info.
It would be great to see the Lards reinforced and to have a team out
playing in the IFA league, especially as the IFA doesn't take itself
seriously in the smae way that the local Sunday league etc.. does.
Get in touch if you want to know more.
Betty
