for all the over-paid fops on display, the World Cup has had one major plus -
my lad Danny now likes football!! He's gone from being Stephen Gerard to Lionel
Messi to David Villa, although he's now decided on Lionel Villa, which would be
one hell of a player!! Obsessed with being a goalie he's been David James (I
know, I've TRIED explaining), but he now understands Heskey is rubbish, he
hates the Germans for knocking us out of the world cup, he knows Americans call
it soccer, he knows Leeds fans dislike Man Utd, he goes around the garden
singing, "the Leeds, United, will never be defeated!"
If all that wasn't enough to bring a tear to your eye, he said to me yesterday,
"come on Dad, lets play football, I'll be David Harvey and you can be Peter
Lorimer!"
I nearly cried.. before I smashed a shot in at 74mph into the top corner
screaming LORIMER. They have to learn!!!
