The NATIONAL CENTRE FOR HUMAN RIGHTS IN MENTAL HEALTH wishes to
announce
the launch of a new human rights outreach service that we will be
providing.

On the first Wednesday of each month we will be running a human
rights
outreach service at the Southport Community Legal Centre.

The human rights outreach service will run from 7 to 9 pm.

It is located at:

LIARDET COMMUNITY CENTRE

Port Melbourne

on the corner of Liardet and Nott Street.

You can get FREE advice and assistance on any human rights issue
regarding your mental health at this service. Everything from:
assistance in dealing with psychiatrists, the State Trustees,
psychiatric hospitals; advice and assistance on housing, education
and
employment issues; advice and advocacy if you feel you have been
discriminated against because of your mental health to just
finding out
more about what your rights are.

All you need to do is call the National Centre for Human Rights in
Mental Health on 9689 5075 to make an appointment for the night
service.

On a final note the Centre would like to personally thank the many
people who came to our fundraiser late last year. It was a great
success, exceeding even our own expectations and we thank those
who came
for their support. For those who could not make it, do not worry,
we
will be having a year full of activities and programs that will be
open
to the whole community.

We look forward to making 1999 the year of Human Rights in Mental
Health
and welcome anyone who is committed to promoting and protecting
human
rights to contact our centre and get involved.

Warm Regards

Konstandinos Karapanagiotidis
Director
National Centre for Human Rights in Mental Health
