WTO BRIEFING SESSION FOR VICTORIAN COORDINATORS [This message is being sent to all individuals and organisations known to have been actively involved with the Stop-MAI Campaign. We apologise in advance for any cross-posting - and to included non-Vic recipients.] The Multilateral Agreement on Investment threatened every gain which civil society has attained in the areas of environmental, labour, cultural,indigenous and human rights standards. Having failed in the OECD after an unprecedented worldwide campaign to Stop the MAI, it is now set to resurface in the World Trade Organisation. Concerned individuals connected with the original Stop-MAI campaign are organising a briefing for existing and potential Victorian coordinators who can help to raise public awareness about the agenda of the 3rd Ministerial of the World Trade Organisation which is taking place in Seattle in late November this year, and the WTO Millennium Round which is taking place early in 2000.
