In 1970, Chile elected socialist Salvador Allende as President. Allende's
economic program challenged the control of international and domestic
capital, and opened a social experiment never before tested - the
parliamentary road to socialism.

Thirty years after his election, speakers reflect on the significance and
lessons of the Chilean experiment for contemporary projects in social change.
