Speakers:
Joy Murphy  - Elder of the Wurundjeri people. For 20 years Joy has worked on
all levels of government in executive policy and community development.

Helen Barnacle - Former heroin addict now successful psychologist, drug
counsellor and prison reform campaigner

Denise Haldane - Peer educator with VIVAIDS for more than five years

Hseng Noung Linter - Active member of the Shan Women's Action Network
(SWAN)/ /instrumental in establishing the Women's League of Burma).


These lectures are a partnership between four women's groups: absolutely
women's health (Royal Women's Hospital), International Women's Development
Agency, YWCA and the Victorian Women's Trust. In organising these lectures,
we bring together women from all walks of life to contribute to public
debate on issues of concern, and to affirm partnership and solidarity
between women's organisations. Over the past four years this event has
attracted over 1,800 women and is now considered Melbourne's major
International Women's Day celebration.
