The Wills branch of the Socialist Alliance is launching its federal election campaign with a public meeting titled: "No to GATS, No to privatisation -- Our World is not for Sale!" It is at 7pm on Wednesday, September 5, at Coburg library, corner of Victoria and Louisa sts, Coburg (behind the plaza). Privatisation is wrecking the lives of working people locally and around the world. Now both Liberal and Labor are supporting the World Trade Organisation's proposed General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS) which will let corporations rip even deeper into public services. Wills candidate David Glanz will outline the Socialist Alliance's alternative to this market madness and why workers and students should join protests against the Commonwealth Business Forum and the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting. Other speakers include: * Dave Kerin, union-green activist and Brunswick resident * Melissa Venville, federal NUS Queer officer * Chris Spindler, Australian Manufacturing Workers Union organiser in the northern suburbs. There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion. For more information, email [EMAIL PROTECTED] or ring 9386 4815 or 9388 0062. All welcome. Please forward to suitable addresses. ************************** www.socialist-alliance.org ************************** -- Leftlink - Australia's Broad Left Mailing List mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Archived at http://www.cat.org.au/lists/leftlink/ Sponsored by Melbourne's New International Bookshop Subscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?Body=subscribe%20leftlink Unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?Body=unsubscribe%20leftlink
