Thinking Dreaming Making Co-housing "Not Melrose Place" Co-housing is a way of living in community that creates more possibilities for sharing some aspects of daily life. It offers individuals and families opportunities to have their own, intimate spaces at the same time as having the support, company and care of others. It offers ways of living more sustainably and with greater respect for this earth.
Co-housing is a reaction to the sterile, individualised, resource intensive lifestyles advocated by banks, property developers and retailers. More importantly though, co-housing is a pro-active approach to loss of community, busy-ness and debt. We are hoping to create a collectively owned co-housing community in Melbourne, preferably within biking distance of the inner suburbs. We are seeking more people to become involved in making these dreams a reality within five years. If co-housing sounds like your cup of tea and you have a commitment to community, environmental and social justice, valuing diversity, then Not Melrose Place might be for you!
