Got into a discussion with a member of our CNC group and he said that Legacy counts the slave axis as one of the 5 axis. I thought that the 5th axis was the one on tailstock. All the rest of the CNC industry doesn't count the second motor on an axis. Am I right? Also have the finished the Joe CNC Hybrid and it is in production. Now I am starting on a rolamite driven version based on the Mechmate design. Got lucky on the steel as I have a neighbor that is getting rid of some steel and aluminum and will sell it at scrap prices. Will get it moved to my place within the week. Also I can use his metal lathe to make the non standard parts I need. Giving some thought to a 4' by 8' since I am getting the metal so cheap.
