Hi Andy,

Something caught my eye in the message below.  18" when the template
follower was in the back?  This leads me to believe you where using the
stock template follower and cutting on the front side of the spindle.  It's
not designed to work that way.  You should be cutting on the back side of
the spindle.  It would be the same distance as your front mounted setup.  I
could be really confused though with what you are telling me.  My days are
getting pretty long and the nights too short at the moment.
