I thought I would post a pic of the vertical vise I'm working on. It is still evolving, but the basic construct is there. I initially planned on just using the threaded screws to apply the clamping pressure, but then I got the idea to create a gear system to allow the clamping fences to slide to and from the center line simultaneously. Then my wife got the idea to add a hand crank. I don't think this all will work as fluidly as I would like for this particular build, but the basic clamping concept will certainly get the job done. I made something similar at work for a shoe press and thought it would work here. So, here it is. Pretty simple and straight forward, but most importantly, effective. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Legacy Ornamental Mills" group.
