Well, had some handy, and seemed the thing to do! Have found that  to use

There are some interesting tips here.  The one I'm interested in is 
your horizontal and vertical vise.  Are you using "U Bolts" to hold it 
in place? I'm pleased that you have done something that your old steely unit is 
not supposed to be able to do.  Feel free to correct me on this.
