I think the name of the rig should be Shop Smith Ornamental Jig or "SS OJ" kind of like a boat in Florida. LOL Nice looking keep up the good work. I noticed that cut would look nice on a pen as well.

Hello Everyone.
With all this pen turning stuff (topic's) that we have been taking about last week, got me thinking, why not do something a little different along the pen turning lines.
Well here it is!Something a bit different. ;-)
A roped wooden handle for a jig that I am making.
The handle is 3/4" thick, Brazilian cherry . with a 3/8" steel shaft running through the wood, I used my 1/2" pen roping bit to make the wooden handle part, I used a 2 stat rope with a 1/4" pitch.

I know this is not a big project, but after working a 10 hour day, at work,I needed to get out in the shop and escape form reality for at least a short time.and un-wind.
I though it turned out well. and wanted to share with all of you.
If anyone what's to know more, Please feel free to ask.
talk to you all latter.
