I have successfully used the legacy to mill aluminium but I defiantly would not
recommend it unless your an experienced metal machinist

I used a carbide end mill and ran the router at its slowest speed I had a stop
at each end of the cut and had everything very heavily clamped and had all
leadcrews engaged and all movement and slop in the machine reduced as much as
possible but most importantly only took 0.005 thousands of an inch cuts at a
time and feed it by hand very very slowly the motor feed is way too aggressive .

But again I defiantly do not recommend it the legacy mill is not designed for
the forces involved in milling metals

And the possibility of catastrophic failure and damage to your mill is very
high. And I take no responsibility at all if you attempt it.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all.

Has anyone used their LOM to mill Aluminum using end mills ?
Me, not having a milling machine thinks it can be done using very light cuts
I have a z axis with a DRO running a PC 7518. What do you think ?
