This topic reminds me of a story I read several years ago. A guy and his son are trying out a new lathe the father bought that had an electronic speed control that was not what the guy was used to. He chucked up a big piece of wood and started to turn it on then remembered to stop so they both could put on safety glasses. He then turned on the machine and stood back, not realizing that it was 10x's faster than he thought. The machine was so out of balance that is started walking across the floor and then threw the chunk of wood through the wall of the garage and falling over and unplugging itself. His son then turns to his dad and says "good thing we put our safety glasses on, huh dad." db
