I really like those tracks and bearings.  One though to consider though is the fact that they must always be held down.  The old WoodChuck just rode on the top of the rails and had the tendency to ride up off the wood if there was too big of a cut of if your blade got just a little dull.  The fix was to always hold your router and carriage down when you made any cut.  I feel this system would be the same unless you would add a spring-loaded bearing underneath to keep in snugged onto the the upper rail.  Just something to think about if you are looking to incorporate this into any modifications.

Hi Bill

It would be interesting to find who made the extrusion because I think it is an off the shelf extrusion and somewhere in the back of my memory I recall Andy Anderson prototype a CNC machine with this type of extrusion profile although it never went into production. My memory could be faulty by the way, but after 75 years of use what can I expect?

Cheers

Check this out possible legacy rail replacement what you all think. slides easy and doesn’t look like there would be any saddle slop      type movement like in the legacy gets great for possible template work and its modular so a mill as long  as you want
