Okay, I give up. Auto correct is fixing before sending an it does not ask if
it's okay to change. So much for a new email program.

Another idea would be to make a wooden knob for your Legacy.

a 5/16" carriage bolt would work well.

Here is a link you might like to look at.

I've just been using a bolt for the index plate and a thick washer. It has a
more solid grip on the index wheel for working larger diameter stock. Also
when reading or flouting it a tiny bit less loose.

The knob for the index wheel is a 5/16-18 thread. The split nuts are held on
with 1/4-20 threads.

Acrylic can be tricky. If its melting, you need to speed up your feed or
reduce the depth of cut or reduce the router speed or sharpen your cutting
tool. Legacy had a pen video a long time ago showing a one pass cut, bit it
was cheating a bit. Super hard wood you can almost get away with it. Bill's
right, sneak up on your final cut or you might have a problem taken your next
cut because nothing will be left! At least wood is easier than plastic and
metal to add too!

If I remember the thread is ¼ 20 unc but I will have to check to be sure Tim K
will know I’m sure he will chime in to confirm this if not I will measure it
and let you know

Morning folks,

Wonder if anyone can help with any of the following please.

What is the thread on the knob hold in the Index wheel. Its the same as the
one that locks the router and also the half threaded plastic gubbins that goes
on the long threaded thingy.

I unscrewed the index wheel - something went ping and the knob hit the floor,
bounced and despite a very thorough search I'm darned if I can find it. (found
lots of other useful stuff though). Looked through all my Legacy spares and its
not an item supplied.apparently.

I managed to get the REVO up and running today (yeehahhh) so I'm almost back in
business - tried to turn an acrylic pen as per Bill - acrylic shattered - but
I'll sort it.

I also managed through the group to get a copy of the assembly instructions
which helped enormously.

Are there instructions for the Rotary Table and the Vertical vice available do
you know?

Thanks to all the advice and help I've had so far - if I hadn't found this
group I would still be ages away from actually using the machine.

Ray
