So here we are, November 28, 2019. After buying this machine in 2006 and
assembling it in November of 2019, I have hit the power button on the router
motor and made some chips.
Time to now get the rails and slides tweaked so that everything isn't so tight.
But that isnt a task for today.
Just wanted to give this baby a bit of a whirl for today.
😁😁

Has anyone heard from Russ in the past year?  He was quite "active" here for
about 6 months - then seems to have dropped out.  That was about 1 1/2 years
ago,  He linked us to several YouTube videos he made - most of them very
informative.

Have a "Warm" week. (It is very cold in the eastern US right now.)

I have a pretty good dust collector setup now. I set the mill right next to the
collector with its own 4" collector hose, with an option to add a second. A
clean shop is always a goal for me. 😁😁

Ryan,

You may want to "start" by finding one or two of the videos on "Dust
collection/Control in the shop" that a contributor to this Group shared with us

about 1 1/2 years ago.  I can only remember his first name: Russ - and he wore
a "cowboy/western" hat (leather, I believe).

I suggest you set your LOM and shop up to be capable of significant dust
control - BEFORE you even start running The Mill.  If you don't - it will
probably be like "Crack" (or other drugs?) - once you get going, you won't want
to let up/stop to configure the place for capturing as much of the dust as
possible.  You will have it EVERYWHERE!  Including the worst of all places -
your lungs.

I am sure someone reading this will be able to point you to Russ's site and
videos (maybe it will even be "Russ" - if he's lurking.)

Enjoy the "New Toy"!

I finished assembling my LOM 1200 Sunday morning.

Once built, where do you start?

At first I thought I would bring in a 5/4 oak board and flatten a face with a
surfacing bit.

Then I looked at my bench and saw all those glued pine blanks. 3"square and 32"
long. Hmmm. How about playing with those?

So be it. Tomorrow afternoon I will give it a shot.
