Yep - That's exactly what the previous owner had done.  Luckily, he kept the pieces.
I'll try your suggestion.

Does anyone know where Legacy got/gets those plate nuts?

Thanks.

If you put legacys plate in the wrong way up as you do up the screw it pulls the nut out of the plate just push it back in with a vice and watch witch way you put the plate in the rail.

Bill,

Excellent video!!

I have wondered why Legacy went with the "table"/plate nuts that they did.

Yours seem to be candidates for easy mass production.  Thanks for sharing.

I've had the "nut" on the back side of a Legacy plate nut come off.

At that point, it is of little use.  I have given thought to using epoxy to try to put it back in use.

Has anyone found a way to "fix" a Legacy plate nut that has come off the flat steel square it is attached to?

Does anyone know where Legacy got/gets those plate nuts?

Made some table nuts for my legacy today I did a video of it I don’t show all the processes but you can get the idea how I made them using a metal shaper , pedestal drill and other tools
