Thankfully, where I live, we don't.

However, in northern Minnesota they are TERRIBLE in the summer. Of course with all those bodies of water, you have to expect LOTS of flies and mosquitoes.  Of course, all those insects help to support the great fishing (catching?) they have there.

My curiosity got the best of me.  I had to look up that strange county name - Mille Lac's County.  Interesting to learn that it's French and essentially translates as "1,000 lakes" -  close to your state motto.

What's French for "Land of a hundred million black flies"?  LoL

Sorry this in not LOM but here's what I've been doing the last month. 

I tore out the old one and build all new making almost twice the original size. 

This is what is referred to as the Judges Bench. Now being used as the Board Room in our Local Mille Lac's County Historical Court House.
