The board on top is sacrificial anyway you will make more over the time using
the rotary table. There is lots of stuff on indexing it too we can let you know
all that later when you use it. Did your mill come with its user assembly
manual?

Subject: My 1200 - Accessories: The Indexing Rotary Table

As mentioned earlier I received a number of accessories with my new 1200 mill.

Starting off with one that is seemingless most common is the Indexing Rotary
Table.

The weight of this accessory surprised me. A good thing given it's function.

Taking this apart was a bit of a trick until I figured out how to rotate the
aluminum plate so the access holes allowed me to get to the screws holding the
particle board element to the aluminum base. Works as intended I believe. I
can live with the slight water marking in the particle board top as that can be
replaced when necessary.

One Full Turn = 8 evenly spaced cuts

1/2 Turn = 16 evenly spaced cuts

1/4 Turn = 32 evenly spaced cuts

For any other number of cuts the literature says to divide the number of teeth
in the large gear on the table (160) by the number of cuts desired to arrive at
the number of teeth to rotate the table. Ex: To get 10 evenly spaced cuts,
divide 160 by 10 = 16 teeth.

Rather than dealing with the latter I'll probably be doing 8, 16, or 32 cuts.
Counting teeth seems cumbersome and prone to miscounting.
