As you all know what happens when you reach the place your router stops when turning, fluting etc.... it usually burns So...... get in route and get out no burn. I have been working on an idea in my mind to convert my Z access with the Non Plunge router PC that several of us have with the threaded adjustable up and down I want to disengage the threading rod and run it similar to a plunge router without loosing the view I have with the Z access and router hanging on the front. I really appreciate how you can see the tooling being used so (no I'm not mounting a plunge router on the red plate.) so I have a plan for a lever and possibly a spring return type action to aid in returning or coming out of the cut. Similar to a servo motor but with out adding a motor. Has anyone done besides Curtis with using a ShopSmith assembly?
