to Tom Weaver... Tom, does your CNC have the rack-and-pinion version of the CNC upgrade?... or do you have the stepper motors connected to the acme 5/8-4 threaded rods?... if it is the rack-and-pinion version, could you please post some photos of it... I have never seen the r and p setup on a machine... thanks... Joe B.

Bill... I would think that the more common gear sets are there... for my estimating purposes, and for what I see all that is there, I would think the original owner purchased all of the gear sets... of course it needs to be verified... and if it is found that they are not there, than a price adjustment is in order... but from the photos that I have seen, this original user ran through the catalog and purchased everything Legacy had to offer at the time... it is my understanding that there are more boxes the seller has to go through... so I am making some assumptions here... lets see where this goes... here are photos of those extra long router bits... its all good stuff here... part of what is interesting is everyone's opinions... I just put out a price I thought was about right too much higher and a sale might be a longer time coming

Lower and the seller would be giving the mill away it’s a starting estimate I didn’t see any horizontal or vertical vices or any .25 or 2x gears and other accessories apart from the rotary table, the 4x gears are good but they don’t cover all the smaller pitches. remembering what other mills I see for sale I thought it was a fair price what do you think is a better price? As with all things for sale it all depends on how bad the seller  wants a sale verses how bad a buyer wants the item. Just because new it all cost a fortune doesn’t mean you will get a fortune when you sell it this is all just my opinion im interested on what every one else’s is.

Hey Bill!... I might think it will be more than the $3,500 you are estimating... spoke to the seller and he mentioned that there are at least 12 of those 6" long Magnate bits that are made specifically for the Legacy machine and they are basically in brand new condition.... I just bought two of those(fluting, 1/2" diameter flute) from Magnate and they were $50 each!... and there are still boxes that the seller is going through... so it will be interesting to see where this all settles into... but the big key is who is willing to travel to that part of the country to seal the deal... as mentioned, there is no parting out of this stuff and there will be no crating/packing/shipping of this entire lot of stuff... the seller is seeing all of these comments now, and will soon be commenting himself once he is approved into the group, so everyone can then have contact with him directly... good luck to all and the seller as well... Joe B.

Joe,

Do you know the version of the CNC upgrade? It was either Standard or Performance.

okay guys, time to separate the men from the boys!... I was recently contacted by someone who just obtained a Legacy 1500 and does not know anything about the machine or how it works... and they are in the market to sell this Legacy... here is a list of the "goodies"

1) CNC legacy upgrade package, not installed... most likely never installed... with the         software CDs!

2) 4X gear package upgrade... yes, 4X!... verified myself and with the installation sheet

3) "Z" axis upgrade

4) rotary table with the flex piece to connect it to the head stock

5) Legacy aluminum rail base with casters

6) original lead screw drive motor with the controls and limit switches

7) nice Porter Cable router on it

8) practically every Legacy option you could ever imagine

9) I am sure there are router bits, just haven't gotten that far into the inventory

I am guiding this person through the process, so no low ballers!... LOL!... general location is the southwest United States... certainly photos will be available, most likely tomorrow's postings... could use some assistance in helping with a fair price for this person... for the record, I have no interest myself(that remark is mostly directed to Mac!)... anyone can email me at <finu...@aol.com>... or call my cell anytime 516-606-6627... once a fair price has been offered I will give the contact info of the seller and I am then backing away... just trying to help someone who reached out to me... ok guys, let's see where this goes... regards... Joe Biunno
