Today I was able to cut a new cane for a friend of mine. This was the First cane that Ive made using this type of Brass handle. Its a simple 2 start rope on a 3" pitch. I was told to make it 37" . I used <https://www.magnate.net/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=3933> <https://www.magnate.net/v/vspfiles/templates/134/images/clear1x1.gif> <https://s3.amazonaws.com/msv5/images/spacer.gif> <https://www.magnate.net/v/vspfiles/templates/134/images/clear1x1.gif> <https://www.magnate.net/v/vspfiles/templates/134/images/clear1x1.gif> <https://www.magnate.net/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=3933> Magnate 3933 Classic Plunge Cutting Router Bit - 5/32" Radius; 3/4" Cutting Diameter; 1/2" Shank Diameter; 1/2" Cutting Height; 1-1/2" Shank Length <https://www.magnate.net/v/vspfiles/templates/134/images/clear1x1.gif> For decorative edge grooving on cabinet faces and for picture and mirror frames. <https://www.magnate.net/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=3933> <https://www.magnate.net/v/vspfiles/templates/134/images/clear1x1.gif> <https://www.magnate.net/v/vspfiles/templates/134/images/clear1x1.gif> Our Price: $21.65 to make the rope. The company who sells these canes, tells everyone to carve the handle so its snug, and then use epoxy. So what I did was something 100% different. I noted that the thread were 3/4". So I turned the end down to just under 7/8" and then cut threads with my steel die set, to 3/4". Then I added epoxy as a lock tight. This handle will not come off with out breaking the wood, the threads hold the brass nicely and the epoxy makes sure it will not fall off. ;-) Here is the link to Tree line usa. https://treelineusa.com/walking-sticks-and-canes/cane-handles/ Have a good night everyone.
