Hello guys.

 

Today I was able to cut a new cane for a friend of mine.

This was the First cane that Ive made using this type of Brass handle.

Its a simple 2 start rope on a 3" pitch.  I was told to make it 37" . I used

to make the rope.

 

The company who sells these canes, tells everyone to carve the handle so its 
snug, 

and then use epoxy.  So what I did was something 100% different.  I noted that 
the thread were 

3/4". So I turned the end down to just under 7/8" and then cut threads with my 
steel die set, to 3/4".

Then I added epoxy as a lock tight. This handle will not come off with out 
breaking the wood,

the threads hold the brass nicely and the epoxy makes sure it will not fall 
off. ;-)
