ONE Note. If you heat the steel up to red and let it cool slowly the hardness
will be removed form the steel. Then the drill bits could cut the steel more
easily.
I have made a few lathe adaptors, for the Legacy drive spurs, I use Mine all
the time. Yours looks Very Nice.Keep up the good work.

I got inspired to prepare a drive plate for my lathe. First I was just going
to make a spindle to hold the plate from the REVO, but then I found an old lawn
mower blade of same thickness to make another plate so I don't have to switch
the drive plates even. (Note to self--don't do that...again....that stuff is
HARD and TOUGH!) I've ruined three drill bits trying to drill through it, and
even the carbide mill cutter had a tough time making the slots. Ended up
grinding them out. But I only have a hole half way through the middle....so
there's that.
That's the original drive plate on the new D spindle.
This is one of those projects to do so that another project can be completed to
be able to make progress on the original task, which in this case is to make
true octagons for my London pattern handles in Jatoba for the hand screw set
I'm almost done with!
