I like that, something that I've not done before. Thanks for you idea, could be a good get-me-by in time of need. Have a great day. C.A.G. (More of less.) ;-) And the best part is the total cost was something like $20.00.I still like the spade bits that I used for gauge blocks in the past,(for those new to the group, I am adding a photo of these bits.) but I find these key stock gauge blocks to be a easer and more useful tool for most of my needs. These are my version of "Bill's " gauge block concept / spacing method for roping on the Legacy. (I say Bill's concept, but its not really his concept, He is the first in our group to use gauge blocks for spacing on the Legacy, "That I know of", But gauge blocks have been used for hundreds of years in the machining industry.) Anyhow these are my version, I used square stock (key stock to many.) I used 1/4" and 1/2" square stock to make these. How they are used. by setting the stops on the Legacy acme screw as a starting point, all you need to do is return the carriage to the original starting, dis-engage the split nut and use the stop as a measuring platform, With the gauge block touching the stop and the split nut body , will make sure your spacing is exactly where you want it to be every time. I mounted them on my 200, so they are easy to find and use when needed. Simple tools for getting the job done. Take care .
