,

Over the years I have seen a number of folks plug into The Group because they
recently

acquired (bought, inherited, etc.) a LOM and they want to learn more about it.

In some cases they plug into The Group because they are contemplating buying
one on the "For Sale markets -

like Facebook Marketplace, CraigsList, eBay, etc. Knowing there is a place
where they can ask questions, get a copy

of missing manuals, possibly acquire missing parts, accessory items, etc. -
will go a long way towards

them deciding to take the plunge and learning to use the Mill.

Bill & Curyt - I believe one of you did a survey about a year ago -asking for
responses.

There were a number of folks that responded that they were "lurkers" and
appreciated what The Group provided - but

that they didn't feel they could add anything to the discussions - whether that
was due to lack of LOM use & skills or

if it was simple timidness to express themselves to a group of
"craftsmen"/highly skilled in LOM use they did not "know".

If I'm not mistaken, Tim Z. may have come on board (pun!) for that very reason
- a hunger for how to use it -

not to mention as an avenue to amass possibly America's largest collection of
LOMs!

Please keep in mind my above comments are based upon my "one-sided knowledge"
of the discussion - as I have not

read any comments by Group members other than what I saw below from Bill.

Just my thought on the discussion re: shutting down The Group.

I agree Curt with only 4 or 5 people responding it would not bother me too much
I have those 5 peoples emails so contacting just them it would be no different

to what it’s like now

Hey Tim.

I agree. But what?

We need to know What people want. With out the group members, input this group
serves no one. If this is true, then I feel the group should be disbanded.

Our goal has always been to learn as much as we can, and the share what we know
with others, in the hope of growing.

I guess we will have to wait and see, what comes up?

Have a good night.

Hi Guys!

Just got home from work.

I have made a few candy dishes and a few platters on the Legacy.

Here are some of my projects.

NOTE: as a general rule of thumb. I like to make things on my lathe and then
add ornamental details

using the Legacy when possible.

Have a good night. talk to you all more tomorrow. (today, but when I wake up.
its 1am now...) ;-)

Hello Everyone.

Its been pretty quite as of late on this group page.

I have been thinking about new projects that I am in the planning to do. Then
it drawn on me, to ask you all, Are there any projects that you all want to
make with you Legacy's. With over 500 members in our group, there has to be
someone who is looking for a projects or info. on something new that could be
made, or done with the Legacy.

I for one always seem to be drawn into new and advanced Ornamental things that
intrigue me. like re-storing antiques and or making Ornamental objects for home
and other peoples projects.

As many of our group know about my liking for template work.

I see templates as the old world CNC's for making parts all look the same. and
the Legacy can do a pretty good job by the use of a template. But sadly most
Legacy users just do not want to try to use templates with there machines. I am
NOT sure why?

the wave attachment is also another neat tool that can be made, for the Legacy
to do some pretty neat things.

If you look in our archives you can find many projects and idea, that just
might others in the group want to try to make them for them self's?

So lets hear for you all. any idea?

Have a good night.
