For a long time, I tried to keep the location fields as pure place
names but Ed, your solution works best for me also.  I have quite a
few people who were buried at sea and at least this way I can see them
all together.  Another way would be to put the information in the
Death or Burial Notes.  I shy away from this because other programs
handle these notes differently when importing a gedcom from Legacy.

The very few I have, I show cremation as an event, with the    ashes placed in 
a spot in a cemetery and I show as burial. How one would show    burial at sea, 
on a mountain, ect, is beyond me.
