Mike: Why don't you contact Pat directly and offline to see if she knows
how to eliminate the emoticons from the bottom of her email? It is possible
that you will find she would like to remove them but does not know how. In
addition, while you are doing that, would you please contact me offline to
tell me how to "snip" irrelevant material. Thank you, Mike!

True! But most modern mailers permit users to configure, by destination
address, whether mail should be sent as plain text or not. What is
annoying me at the moment is the blatant advertisement for emoticons
that has been tagged on to messages from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Couple this
with an inability of most posters to snip the inappropriate stuff, and
this advertisement is multiplying on the list.
