Hi Diane,

Go ahead and attach your photos in Legacy. They really give a lift to reports.

Do collect the photos first into one folder or sub-folders within one folder. It doesn't matter where that folder is on your hard drive. I have a Legacy Pictures folder within My Pictures as I like to keep all the pictures together.

(I've also shifted the My Pictures folder out of the My Documents folder 1) so My Documents is a more reasonable size to backup onto CD and 2) so it's path is C:\My Pictures - so I can easily set the same path on my laptop and desktop. Neither may be an issue for you.)

You don't say which report you've used to create your 455 pages.
You can save the report as a PDF and then print it in two parts.

If you mean regenerating it next year, it won't be the same as you will have done more research.

Picking up a Family tree 10 generations and further back without generations 1-9 is a bit complicated as there are so many branches.

Hope that helps,
Cathy

I have a project to make some Ancestor Books for the nieces and nephews families for Christmas. I'd like to divide the project and give one volume this year and another volume next year. Is there a way I can make generations 1 -9 for one volume and pick up at generation 10 to print the balance. This would make each volume about 250 pages. The total is about 455 pages.

I have photos for some of these people, but haven't included any as I am still confused as to the best way to organize these photos in a hard drive. Can I just stick copies of the ones I attach to a Legacy file in a Legacy Ancestors Photos file?

My old way of doing this was to use a binders and dividers for each generation and add family group sheets and photos.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Diane
