Hi Tish,

If you're going from Legacy to Legacy - use the Legacy backup file and restore it on the other computer. If you use a Gedcom everything has to be translated twice - once to make the Gedcom and then to re-make a Legacy file.

Whether everything will be included in a gedcom depends on the options you choose.

The same if you are splitting your file and using the Export to Legacy file - there are choices to be made re Private information etc. This is still a better option than Gedcom unless there are a number of fields you want to leave out. Gedcom export has more choices on what to include.

If transferring your whole file, the backup file takes all the data.

Hi - If I make a gedcome of my Legacy 6 deluxe, and mail it to another computer I have, how do I get it from an e-mail to the Legacy 6 Deluxe on that machine. I have two computers, and two e-mail addresses.

Second question - will all the information, eg. notes and all come through on a gedcom?

Thanks so much,
Tish
