Ken mentioned a couple of years ago that including same-sex relationships
would be a massive project of rewriting the database schema and they had a
lot of other things that they were working on at the time.

Another major project they need to continue to tackle is converting Legacy
to VB.Net so unicode fonts can be included in Legacy.  We've had a *lot*
more requests on that than on same-sex relationships.
