That's what I thought until I upgraded from AV 2006 to AV 2007. I have since re-graded to AV 2006 until I figure out my best option for anti-virus protection past my AV 2006 expiry in 7 days.

The only time Norton has a bad reputation is when people don't know how to properly use it! Norton, in particular, does not have a such a great reputation, in fact there are many instances where it is known to interfer with programs. In fact I threw it away years ago and have never regretted having done so. BTW it took ages to eliminate it totally as it tries to take over one's machine! To me that's a virus in itself!! I am not all that bothered about receiving emails in HTML but am always very careful about opening attachments (in any format) and never open them before checking with my antivirus software. From News Groups I simply do not accept attachments. I had not intended to join this discussion but am afraid I was unable to let go a potentially unnecessarily expensive solution. Incidentally I use AVG Free and am delighted with it; my mail box is at least as busy as yours and I have never had a problem with emails, although AVG has thankfully picked some up for me.
