Candi,
I think you are hovering over the box that shows "ancestor color coding" if
you choose to use that option. Since you have done what Ron suggested, the
next step would be to go to options->customize->view->ancestor color coding.
Once you have chosen colors and checked the box, save and then go to
Tools->apply ancestor colors. The colors will only show on people that are
in the direct ancestor line of the person you choose to start with.

Hi Ron,
Thank you so much for your help, but I have already tried both of
your suggestions and these didn't fix the problem. I have never seen
this problem either. But the box appeared next to the name and when
you rest your mouse over it that is what it says. I just don't know
how to fix it or if may cause me any problems.
