It rather depends on how much of your setting setc you wish to include. The minimum would be the Legacy Set-up file and your family back up file ie the zip file usually in C:\Legacy\Data which would have to be copied into the Data Folder after installation and then brought into Legacy using File>Restore. There is no problem, however, in doing as you suggest and include the whole of the Data Folder and copy that to C:\Legacy, in which case, obviously, the back up file will already be there.

If you back-up your multimedia files these also will be in Legacy Data. However there is a potential problem in restoring as the path(s) will be that on your machine, so if they are stored in My Documents, for example, the path would normally include your name. You may like to consider, therefore, moving them to a folder in C:\ and reassociating them with your Legacy before creating the new back-up.

The help Files give a pretty good description of restoring files, btw.

I'm distributing about a dozen copies of our family genealogy and including a copy of Legacy for the convenience of those who don't have broadband. For files transfer, I've used what I've done when computers died and laptops appeared at home. Install Legacy, then simply either overwrite or delete the DATA folder and replace it with a copy of the one on my backup or distribution DVD.

Do I lose any data this way? Currently, I haven't used multimedia files. When I do, will I need to transfer other folders?
