Thanks Diana - just tried this. I unlinked the stepchildren and then linked
them to my son - set the parent relationship to step & biological - and now
they are printing out on the report. You have to look hard but it's there. I
appreciate your help!

Here is a work around that I use with what I think is success. My
senerio:

Dad 1 dies young
Mom 1

Son A of Dad 1 and Mom 1.

Mom 1 marries
Dad 2. (Dad 2 raise son A, as his own but never adopts him)

Dad 2 comes with 2 small children from his first marriage who's 1st wife
passed away in child birth.

Dad 2 and Mom 1 have two still born children. No living children from
this union. the 3 small children are raised as a single family though they
are not.

Dad 1 and Mom 1 are a family group with Son A.

Dad 2 and mom 2 are a family group with Daughter B and Daughter C.

Dad 2 and Mom 1 are a family group with still born children, but here is
how I am different:

I added Son A (add an existing Son) and set his relationship to Dad as
step child and mom as biological
I added Daughter B & C (add an existing daughter) and set the girls
relationship as biological to the dad and as step to the mom.

This shows the family group as everyone knew this family as. They all
acknowledge that there were other parents and I can print the other family
groups as well. (One for each of the biological origins of the family, and
one with the blended family with all the relationships stated) When printing
family groups or decendents make sure you check the option show child parent
relationships. This will print this information when ever it is completed
on that particular family group that it is completed for.

I don't do this on all blended families, but I have several that quite
frankly they became a family when the children were young and are the family
unit that they grew up with. What happend before that is just facts or
genes.

It isn't the perfect geneology way of doing it, but I am saying I record
family history....and these two familes were just that families.

Hope this helps you.
