One modification to the MRIN system that I have implemented is to
renumber the MRIN's as follows: 1 for my parents, 2 & 3 for my
grandparents, 4-7 for my great-grandparents, etc.

When I do a pedigree chart for me (printing out the MRIN) I can see
that the numbers are in order.

Thanks so much Jennifer - one of those took me to the original document I
had read which I kind of liked the idea of that system, as opposed to the
one I currently have where I have grouped all my birth certificates,
marriage certificates, etc together and referenced them accordingly. The
only problem with this that I've found is that when focussing on a set
family or wanting to share documentation with someone else, I have
information spread everywhere . . . I kind of liked the idea of grouping
everything together based on the MRIN and thought it was worth trying it to
see if it was a system that would work for me . . . thanks again for your
assistance :)

probably had to click here and there to find it myself the first time.
