Hi Mary,

The quickest way if you know what source you are using is to use one of the tags for that source and tag people that you want to follow up in that source and untag them when you've done.

I used this when I was using South Australian BDM disks as BDM info leads you all over the place. I set up 3 tags - one for SA births, one for SA marriages and one for SA deaths. If you're doing census stuff you might want a tag for a particular census year and another to check them in vital records.

There is no way within Legacy if it's even too much trouble to open Legacy and check out a person. ;-)

Mary,

It is possible that I am just too wrapped up in what I am doing at present to grasp your suggestion (just looking through the mail for a break) but I fail to see what will be gained by this that cannot be done by entering stuff into a To Do as you go along - or by creating a spreadsheet or log in any suitable program.

I know Legacy has a research form that you can print out and write down your research, but it would be so much better if we could do one right on Legacy as we do it (and before old-zheimers sets in). I do my research by bits and pieces, and would love to be able to call up a page that shows me what I was working on in date sequence. Sometimes you get stopped before you finish a certain project, and don't have time to make up a 'To-Do' for all the people you need to finish up with. Then that on-program log could be printed out for your hard files (to carry with you on a research trip; & especially good if you are working on a project that someone is paying you for!) It is frustrating to be online, say checking census on a newly found person in your line, and see a familiar name as you go down the page, and have to either write it down just in case you don't have it or minimize the page and go into Legacy to the person's events to see if it is there. Legacy does have the click screen that shows you the families you were recently working on, but doesn't tell you what you were doing with it (you may have just gone to the page to refresh your memory, not add anything). Is this already available in Legacy and I have just not found it? Mary, Shenandoah Valley, VA
