I have an old version of FTM that I transferred over to my laptop... the ONLY time I use this programme is to "read" the various CD-ROMs (that I purchased) that are available from genealogy.com. Legacy had been recommended to me and I went out and purchased a copy - started out with version 5 (I think) and have done all the up-grades, etc. I've tranferred Legacy files over to FTM and do not like the end-results.
