Yes, Rob - When you are in the family file that you wish to import a copy of these lists to, go to View, Master Lists, Location (for example), then click on Options and Import. You actually never need to export the list, it will look at the old family file you select and import from there.
Not sure if it works for everything you are interested in, but just check Options, to see if there are any save, load, or import options.
