Bill: If you search at RootsWeb WorldConnect for any of the Founding Fathers you'll see many examples of how others do it. (Try Thomas Jefferson with wife Martha Wayles.) Personally I think it looks a little silly to list someone born in the 1600's with a USA birthplace and/or a county that didn't exist. Ani-Map is a big help in identifying the proper place names but the maps don't begin until 1643. Another good source is Wikipedia.

All the place naming that I have seen for colonial times use town, county, state, USA. Can someone show me a website that use the colonial names for places?
