Good idea. However, in the Family View, I can choose which fields I want
displayed. in the Ages window, is there a way to do that? I would like
to replace "Christening" with an Event field, if possible.

Have you tried the "Control+A" tactic?
In most views hitting this combination on your keyboard will bring up
the ages of the relevant events to the day for the people you are viewing
