Wayne,

In my case I don't use the address facility as I put the full location in the "Died in" field on the Individual's Information Screen - hence no problem. You could always just put "The Nursing Home" in the name field if you wished.

Jennifer:

I think you misunderstood my question.

All the items with the "n/a" in the name box have data in them which I want linked to the event in question; it is just that I have no information to put in the name box. For instance, I have several deaths that occurred in a private home and I have the address of that home. However, I do not know whose home it is so have nothing to put in the name box. Thus, the most unhelpful "n/a" appears and I want to replace it with something; I just don't know with what or how to replace it.

I am wondering how others dealt with this situation or if anybody has any suggestions.

Wayne,

Legacy only inserts an "n/a" if after clicking on the + sign you
click on the address and exit the field. You can go back into the
address and click on "Unlink" or click it before leaving the
field.

For the ones you already have and want to delete, I think you
will have to go to View/Master Lists/location and ask to show all
with ""n/a". You can then go through the list and Unlink them.

Subject: [LegacyUG] Names in Address List

I use the address list to record the details of locations such
churches,
cemeteries, etc. When I do not have a name (such as when a person
dies in a
private home), Legacy inserts a "n/a" as the name of the place.
Thus, when I
open up the address list I see a long list of "n/a" which is not
very
helpful. How do others handle this situation? ... I'm looking for
ideas.
Thanks.
