I do three versions. Sometimes I put the source type first in a few cases
("template - 1830 census, etc," e-mail - [subject]), surname often ("Walker,
HR - homestead proof," "Walker, HR - Confed Military," "Walker, HR - Camp
Douglas"), and most of them geographically ("Illinois - marriages online,"
"Illinois, Hamilton - Yesterdays of Hamilton Co", etc)

I like being able to scroll to HR Walker and see most of his individual
(probably, therefore, more important sources).

For me the combination of the three works. It may not be consistent, but
since the "nicknames" are just for personal usage, it doesn't matter much.
