Is it possible to search a family file by date?

It's impossible to give very good instructions without knowing exactly what you want to search for, but for a start, try the following:

Click on Search.
Select the Detailed Search tab.
Select the appropriate option in Look For Whom. (Probably Individual)
Select the appropriate option in Where To Look. (One of the date fields.)
Select the appropriate option in How To Look.
In What To Look For type the date you want.

If you are looking for information between a range of dates you will need to use to "rows" of Search criteria, selecting the And radio button. For the first row, select After and type the day before your first day of interest. In the second row, select Before and type the day after your last day of interest.

For example, to find any Event during 1876, select Individual : Event Date : After : 31 December 1875 AND Individual : Event Date : Before : 1 January 1877.
