This is off topic Legacy.

Has anyone ever seen a complete master list of all abbreviations a state may use when describing relationships to the head of the household in censuses? Head, wife, son, daughter, brother, etc., are all obvious.

But many states seem to have their own system of abbreviations. Thus I have wondered if anyone has assembled master list of what abbreviations are used, their meaning, and which state uses those abbreviations? It would go a long way to decipher some of the censuses I am trying to make sense of.

Thank you, everyone.

Robert
